A multi-award-winning Pan-Asian restaurant and bar, Chino Latino has been delighting discerning diners across the UK for over a decade. Pioneers in a new wave of fusion cuisine, Chino Latino takes a voyage around the flavours of China, Southeast Asia and Japan, complemented by mixology from Latin America. Nelson Associates was tasked with transforming the brand DNA and crafting an elevated marque, colour palette and graphic style, encapsulated in collateral for all locations.
Southeast Asian leads the fusion of flavours at Chino Latino, accented with vibrant Peruvian highlights. We found our visual inspiration in the brand’s ethos of enveloping its chefs complex, vivid, piquant cooking in impeccably sleek, contemporary interiors – a perfect aesthetic metaphor for modern Asia. Flavours and heritage demanded bold contrasts in the colour palette, and we embraced inky Chino black and intense Latino red, running as a thread through brand, interior, uniforms and into every printed element. Historic zongpai (vertical writing) script inspired our typography, while the visual cues that evoke each region inspired our richly luxurious leather menus, hand-decorated in bespoke symbology.
Chino Latino restaurants have won many awards, commended as much for design and atmosphere as for their vibrant cooking. A magnet for celebrities, influencers and experience seekers, each location celebrates its own distinctive characteristics, from soaring entrances to rooftop cigar terraces, becoming a by-word for high octane glamour and impeccable dining.
