For those seeking authenticity and adventure in fabled settings all around the world, Belmond’s collection of 46 iconic hotels, trains, river cruises and safari lodges delivers. While variety is the essence of the Belmond portfolio, a thread of assured luxury and a pioneering spirit unify in every place. As an LVMH maison brand spirit is everything, and it was this that most inspired when we were appointed to lead an in-depth review of both the Belmond master brand and each of its iconic travel brands.
With a portfolio spanning some of the world’s most memorable destinations, from Venice’s famed Hotel Cipriani, to Rio’s legendary Copacabana Palace; icon of travel, the Venice Simplon Orient Express, to the lush environs of the Kwai River Lodge, Belmond hospitality enjoys a deserved reputation as a creator and curator of extraordinary experiences. A brand revitalisation was required to keep up with its perfectly judged destinations and our brief was to craft an iconic brand, from the ground up. Focused initially on finding a way to unify a truly diverse yet intuitively connected portfolio. And, after reconfiguring the master brand, we were to turn our attention to its storied stable, and create identities fit for icons.
Our rebrand encompassed architecture, positioning, vision and ambition, and resulted in a master brand of impeccably modern luxury – an umbrella under which we crafted individual identities for each of Belmond’s 49 property brands, and one which has been garlanded with awards.
