Following a stellar opening in 2012, Villa Azur has become a South Beach landmark. Creating a destination in the world’s nightlife capital isn’t easy, but Miami nightlife legend, Michael Martin, has successfully conjured a mix of the unique and the unforgettable that has proved irresistible to the global glitterati. Desiring to capture this spirit in print, the Villa Azur owners commissioned Nelson Associates to write, design and produce a beautifully produced book for investors and coffee-tables alike.
There’s an alchemy to creating a club that can capture a moment and stand the test of time – and it’s all down to the living, breathing experience. In order to capture it viscerally we documented a typically memorable evening at Villa Azur, following guests from dinner to dance floor, behind the velvet rope in a slice of a life less ordinary, shot reportage-style by established photojournalists to perfectly evoke the essence of being there. Our hand-produced limited-edition book, with immaculate white cloth slipcase, was designed to viscerally showcase the Villa Azur brand’s proven luxury credentials. We further upped the elegance by refining the Villa Azur identity and with the addition of a white and gold colour palette to reference its interior.
Villa Azur twins the sophistication of the South of France with the glamour of South Beach and, naturally, features exceptional dining, world-beating bartending and a roll call of the planet’s most sought-after DJs all in a richly decadent setting. Capturing this required an obsessive attention to every fine detail, which has seen the piece exceed its original objective evolving into a highly covetable coffee table book and powerful tool for generating investment.
